2018 Christmas Toy Appeal - Thank you
JRS Ireland would like express our sincere thanks to all supporters of the 2018 Christmas Toy Appeal, which helped ensure more than 500 children living in Direct Provision received a gift this Christmas.
The call – Every Child Deserves a Present at Christmas – resonated strongly again with the public and there was a huge outpouring of support from all sections of society. JRS Ireland would like to acknowledge the schools, businesses, parishes and individuals throughout Ireland who contributed so generously to the appeal with toys and financial donations.
The Irish Jesuit schools were especially generous in supporting the JRS Ireland Toy Appeal and students and staff of Belvedere College and Gonzaga College even helped to wrap hundreds of the toys being delivered to accommodation centres throughout Ireland. Meanwhile, in Limerick, Grainne Delaney, Chaplain of the Crescent College Comprehensive, also organised a very successful Crescent Christmas Pyjama Appeal in the school for the benefit of asylum seekers residing in Knockalisheen Direct Provision centre.
Wishing all JRS Ireland supporters and the asylum seekers, refugees and forced migrants we serve a happy Christmas and peaceful 2019.
