JRS Ireland Intercultural and Interfaith Calendar 2014

The JRS Ireland Intercultural and Interfaith Calendar has been published since 2007 and is aimed at raising awareness of diversity in Ireland. Each month highlights religious feast days from different faiths, national days, international UN celebrations and bank holidays in the Republic of Ireland.

The theme of this year’s calendar is Welcoming the Stranger.

Each month is accompanied by a quote to encourage reflection on the theme and to encourage greater understanding of, and mutual respect for, diverse religious and cultural traditions. These quotes aim to increase intercultural and interfaith awareness, contributing to the development of an open, inclusive and dynamic Irish society in which all residents are valued, regardless of their nationality, religion or ethnic background.

This calendar is an excellent resource for people who wish to raise awareness and understanding of intercultural and interfaith issues in Ireland, and is particularly useful as a classroom resource.
